The Shelby Series 1 is powered by a specially-modified aluminum Oldsmobile Aurora V8 with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder. A unique design places the transmission at the rear axle, enabling the Series 1 to achieve a perfect 50/50 front to rear weight radio. The use of carbon fiber composites and heat-treated aluminum keeps the total weight under 3,000 lbs. It's the unique combination of awe-inspiring power, unparalleled handling and light-weight responsiveness which creates the experience of driving a race car on the street. The 380 horse power 1998 Shelby Series 1.
